Get to know your farmers.

We are Harmony and Gareth, and we are passionate about growing good things—nourishing food, beautiful flowers, and a deep connection to the land. As we enter our sixth season with Wild Ginger Farmstead, we continue to be humbled and inspired by the lessons the land teaches us. Each year brings new challenges, discoveries, and a greater appreciation for the rhythms of nature. Farming isn’t just our work; it’s a way of life that deepens our respect for the soil, the seasons, and the incredible community that supports us. Every day, we learn to listen more closely, to grow with intention, and to love this land a little more.

Where it began…

For four beautiful years, Millbrook, Ontario, was home to Wild Ginger Farmstead—a place where the skies stretched wide and the land nurtured both plants and people. Millbrook, with its rolling fields and ever-changing beauty, will always hold a special place in our hearts. We carry with us fond memories of the friends, neighbors, and customers who became part of our farm’s story, sharing in our harvests, laughter, and the simple joys of growing food. Their kindness and support made our time there even more meaningful, filling our days with connection, gratitude, and beauty.

Where we are now

It is in Echo Bay that we have landed, rooted, and now call home. This land, with its winding rivers, ancient rocks, and the ever-present dance of wildlife, fills us with wonder each day. We are endlessly inspired by the spirit of this place and the warmth of the community that has welcomed us so wholeheartedly. Their kindness and generosity have made us feel truly at home.

With each sunrise, we dream bigger. We have great plans for this farm—visions of abundant harvests, blooming fields, and a place where people can connect with the land and each other. As we grow alongside this place, we are eager to see what the seasons will bring and to share this journey with all who walk this path with us.

How we grow

Our mission is simple yet deeply rooted in sustainability—to leave the land more beautiful than we found it. We practice biodynamic growing methods, enriching the soil with nutrient-dense compost made right here on the farm and fostering a balanced ecosystem through companion planting. By carefully selecting plant pairings, we attract beneficial insects while naturally deterring pests, reducing the need for outside intervention. Our soil is teeming with life, from essential microorganisms to thriving organic matter, creating the foundation for everything we grow. In truth, the soil itself is our most valuable crop—our fresh, nutrient-rich produce is just an incredible bonus!
